Regatta Success for Broadland Boat Club

Rowers and scullers from Broadland Boat Club have competed in 3 regattas in the last couple of weeks chalking up 2 wins and several Finals.

On Saturday 6 June they travelled to Peterborough to take part in the City Regatta on the 4-lane, 1000m course; the Men's Novice coxed four easily won their first round to go through to the final where they finished 3rd.

Lawrence Taylor completed in his first multi-lane event in a straight final in the Vet D sculls.

The same rowers camped over to take part in the Peterborough Sprint Regatta held on the same course but over the shorter distance of 500m. Despite being kept awake by students all night the mens four again made it through to the final (winning their first heat and coming second in their semi-final) this time finishing 4th.

It was back over across the country for the same crews the following sunday to take part in the Star Regatta, racing side by side through Bedford over a 550m course. The men's four again made it through to the final (beating 3 crews to get there) where they were beaten for the second time in a week by a crew from Bedford School.

There was more success in the sculling events with Neil Baker winning the men's novice single sculls and Lawrence Taylor this time winning his final of the Vet D sculls. Congratulations to both scullers.
